When Kroger’s Ice Cream & Beverage facility needed to install new production equipment, they could not afford the risk of contamination from dust, debris, and other environmental factors. The installation of the new production line at Kroger’s Ice Cream & Beverage facility in Springdale, OH, required the removal of a large wall. To establish a clearly defined construction area while preventing contamination from dust, debris, and other environmental factors, TuffWrap® Installations collaborated with the general contractor, EGC Construction. This solution ensured the safety of employees and products by protecting the facility from contaminants during construction.
TuffWrap Solution
TuffWrap® Installations installed temporary interior barriers to protect the facility from dust and debris during equipment installation and meet the tight deadline. In addition, these high-strength barriers allowed for the maintenance of air quality and airflow.
During the project, the team focused on key concerns:

TuffWrap installed 10-mil thick polyethylene C.O.R.E.-HS Walls and doors to contain dust and debris. These heavy-duty walls were securely attached to the ceiling and floor, creating a sealed construction area. A HEPA filtration system worked in conjunction with the high-strength walls to control air quality by pulling contaminated air out through a ceiling vent and trapping particles within the filter. The flexibility of TuffWrap’s solutions allowed for installation and removal within a single day.
Additionally, two zipper and roller construction doors were installed to provide safe access points. The custom doors facilitated easy entry for forklifts, dump carts, scissor lifts, and personnel.
